Exercise 1A: Digital Readiness Self-Assessment

Purpose: To evaluate your current level of digital readiness and identify areas for improvement in your NDIS service.

Instructions:

Rate Your Service: On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being very poor, 5 being excellent), rate your NDIS service on the following aspects:

  • Digital infrastructure (e.g., hardware, software)
  • Staff’s digital literacy and skills
  • Digital client management systems
  • Online communication channels with clients
  • Data security and privacy measures
  • Use of data analytics for service improvement
  • Digital training and support for staff
  • Integration of digital tools into daily operations

Analyse Your Scores: Reflect on the areas with the lowest scores. What challenges do these scores highlight?

Document Insights: Write down your observations and thoughts about your service’s digital readiness.

Exercise 1.B: Identifying Areas for Digital Improvement

Purpose: To pinpoint specific aspects of your NDIS service that require digital enhancement.

Instructions:

  • List Key Operations: Write down key operational areas of your NDIS service (e.g., client intake, service delivery, reporting, compliance, etc.).
  • Assess Digital Application: For each area, assess how effectively digital tools are currently being used. Are there processes still handled manually that could benefit from digitalisation?
  • Identify Improvement Opportunities: Based on your assessment, identify areas where digital tools could enhance efficiency, accuracy, or client satisfaction.
  • Prioritise Areas for Action: Prioritise these areas based on their impact on service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Set Improvement Goals: For each prioritised area, set specific improvement goals. For instance, “Implement a digital client feedback system within the next 6 months.”
  • Plan Next Steps: Outline the initial steps you need to take to achieve these goals, such as researching suitable digital tools, consulting with technology experts, or scheduling staff training sessions.
